Italian superbike manufacturer MV Agusta is reportedly gearing up for the launch of the Brutale 800 in India in 2017. If the emerging reports are to be believed, the bike will come to the Indian market in the first quarter of 2017.
A Zigwheels report, citing sources close to the development, notes that the new model of Agusta Brutale 800 has already reached at the India headquarter for homologation purpose and will hit the road in early 2017.
MV Agusta Brutale 800 will be brought to India as SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) units and will be assembled at Kinetic Group's plant in Pune. The Brutale 800 is expected to be priced at around Rs 13 lakh in India. Currently, the F3 800, which has been priced at Rs 16.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), is the most affordable offering of Agusta in India.
The bike will come powered by an in-line 3-cylinder 798cc engine with a counter-rotating crankshaft, which can churn out 116bhp and 83Nm of torque. The upcoming Brutale will come mated to a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle can attain a top speed of 237kmph.
The Brutale 800 will come equipped with a Marzocchi USD telescopic hydraulic fork at the front with 125mm travel and mono suspension with 124mm travel at the rear. It will employ 320mm twin-disc at the front and 220mm single disc at the rear and comes with ABS as standard. The Brutale 800 will flaunt an elliptical shaped headlamp, new digital gauge, three-pipe exhaust and a trapezoidal tank with a capacity of 16.5-litres.
MV Agusta is selling the bike in India in partnership with the Pune-based Kinetic Group and its current India portfolio includes six models — F4, F4 RR, F4 RS, F3, F3 RC and Brutale 1090.
