"The Musketeers," one of the most popular BBC shows, has been off air since the Season 2 finale, which premiered on March 21, 2015. Almost a year later, there is still no confirmation about the premiere date for Season 3 Episode 1.
The renewal announcement was made by BBC in February 2015, wherein they said "The Musketeers has delighted audiences at home and around the world and we're thrilled that we've been able to financially support bringing a third series to the BBC, with improved value for the licence fee payer." Most fans had hoped that the show would premiere in January 2016, but that did not turn out to be true. And, executive producer Jessica Pope said on Twitter that they were still shooting around that time.
It is understood that currently, the shooting for Season 3 has been wrapped up, and according to a Facebook comment, "the Musketeers posted in response to a fan's demand for new episodes, the premiere date is all up to BBC now. The earliest that fans can hope for Season 3 premiere is towards the end of March."
Paul Englishby, the music composer for "The Musketeers," also told a fan that the music for the show will be available soon. "...It'll be available with series 3 being aired," he had tweeted. Further, on Feb. 19, 2016, Englishby had posted a photo of the call sheet for Season 3's final orchestral session.
It certainly looks like the production part of "The Musketeers" Season 3 is complete, and is waiting for an official date from BBC. Meanwhile, the names of the first two episodes of the upcoming season have been revealed to be "Spoils of War" and "The Hunger."
