Hindi music composer Ravindra Jain, who was admitted to Lilavati hospital in Mumbai, died on Friday at the age of 71, reports said.
The legendary singer, who came to Nagpur for a concert last Sunday, could not leave for Mumbai as he suffered a paralytic stroke. He was also diagnosed with kidney infection.
Jain, who was first admitted to Platina hospital in Nagpur, was later shifted to Wockhardt hospital and was surviving on ventilator support. Recently, he was sent to Mumbai Lilavati hospital via chartered air ambulance for further treatment.
Jain started his career in the 1970s and composed music for films such as Chor Machaye Shor (1974), Geet Gaata Chal (1975) and Chitchor (1976).
Meanwhile, celebrities and politicians condoled the death of the legendary music maestro.
