Is Coldplay going to perform in Mumbai or did Google India just troll on millions of fans? On Wednesday, Aug. 10, the website tweeted that the British boy band will perform in Mumbai on Nov. 19 but mysteriously deleted the post later.
Google India's tweet simply stated that Coldplay will perform in Mumbai's MMRDA grounds but didn't give any other details. Almost minutes later, the tweet was deleted. However, many seem to be under the impression that the four member band will perform in the country.
On Twitter, news of Coldplay's performance in Mumbai sparked hope among those who are ready to travel the distance in order to watch the band's dreamy songs being performed live.
So far, there hasn't been an official confirmation from Coldplay and neither has Google India issued a statement about the tweet. Nonetheless, rumours about the British band's performance in India have been rife for a while now.
Earlier, many outlets claimed that Coldplay might perform in Mumbai for a charity concert organised by the Global Poverty Project. But the band's official website doesn't include tour dates for the months of October and November.
If the band indeed holds a performance in Mumbai, it will afford many an opportunity to see them live and not just at an impromptu gig. The band's frontman Chris Martin surprised everyone after taking to stage during a concert in Delhi last year. Unfortunately, many fans of the singer missed out on his performance.
Coldplay is currently touring the U.S. after the release of their latest album "A Head Full of Dreams."
