Devoted Eyes should win the Indian 1000 Guineas to be held on Sunday. Ridden by A Sandesh and trained by CD Katrak, Devoted Eyes is the only horse, who has beaten Accolade by a comfortable margin. Accolade is considered one of the best horses on the Indian racing circuit.
Devoted Eyes ran second in her earlier start this season, which was a sprint. She needed that run badly as she was running after a gap of 11 months. She has definitely got the class to beat this set.
The favourite in the race should be Temerity, who even though rated at 91, has not beaten anyone of repute. It might proive to be difficult for her to win here, as this race has got some good fillies running. La Dona and Hall Of Famer are the other horses to look at, in this competitive Indian 1000 Guineas.
The Cole Gold Trophy should be a fight between Night Fury and Kookabura. Night Fury comes slightly better at the weights.
The Ranjit V Bhat Memorial trophy should be won by Serenita, while Deep Diver is expected to run her close. The Faiz Jasdanwalla Trophy for 2yr olds should be between Wise Child and Goldie's Pet. Both are well bred and is expected to run it out at the finish.
MN Nazir Trophy should see a very close finish between Batman, Charging Tigress and Exodus. Batman lost to a better filly In My Dreams, who is running in the 1000 Guineas.
The Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area Trophy should be a straight fight between Mathaiyus and Rousseau. The slight edge goes to Mathaiyus, as the longer trip suits him better.
