Mumbai City FC's Sunil Chhetri rues missing a chance against FC Goa in ISL 2016ISL / Press release

The lethal combination of Sunil Chhetri and Diego Forlan has not yet clicked for Mumbai City FC. They have featured together in two matches so far in ISL 2016 but nothing really great has happened. Ranbir Kapoor's side has not won even one of the two games played so far.

Is it really not working or is Alexandre Guimaraes not finding the right combination? The questions are likely to be answered on super Saturday as Mumbai go head-to-head with a high-flying Kerala Blasters at the Mumbai Sports Arena.

The Kerala side, which didn't have the brightest of starts in ISL 2016, got a shot in the arm with the arrival of Bengaluru FC forward CK Vineeth. The 28-year-old from Kannur has scored three goals already from two games and has earned the tag of the best player from the Kerala Blasters team for ISL 2016.

It will be a showdown between two Bengaluru FC hotshots — Chhetri and Vineeth — as well.

"The two players Vineeth and Rino [Anto] who came in from Bengaluru FC in a league where you are not allowed to make mid-season signings," Kerala Blasters coach Steve Coppell said.

"For us, it was like signing two new players and psychologically it was important and obviously in performance it has made a big difference and we were delighted to have them and Vineeth's impact has been substantial."

Meanwhile, when Guimaraes was asked to explain the poor form of his team's strikers, this is what he said: "I think sometimes in football you have to have confidence in your players. We have very high top quality players in all the departments and of course up front I think they are all ISL-recognised players, so sometimes it's just a matter of patience."

"The main thing about those players is that they have chances and I know sooner or later they will convert more than what they have done so far," the Mumbai City FC coach added.
