Like every year, Mumbai City FC has been active in the transfer market with the Indian Super League side roping in plenty of foreign players for this season. The team is co-owned by Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' fame.
With just days to go for the third season of the football competition to start, the Mumbai-based team is handpicking the best of overseas players in order to bolster their squad and reach for their first title.
On Friday, Mumbai City FC announced the signing of highly-rated Argentine fullback Facundo Cardozo. The 21-year-old is a member of the Argentina U-20 team and is also a winner of the Argentina Super Cup with Atletico Vélez Sarsfield.
"I am very excited to be part of this club [Mumbai City FC]. I have spoken to the coach and am really happy to be part of his vision. I cannot wait to join the team and play for the fans of Mumbai," the footballer said after his loan move was confirmed.
Ranbir Kapoor's side has a stellar line-up this time around. Indian hotshots Jackichand Singh and Sunil Chhetri are already a part of the Mumbai City FC, while the heavyweights among foreign players include Sony Norde of Haiti and Uruguay legend Diego Forlan.
The team will be coached by Alexandre Guimaraes this time around.
