The makers of the movie "Mukunda", which marks the acting debut of Nagababu's son Varun Tej, have advanced its release date to avoid a clash with Pawan Kalyan's "Gopala Gopala" at the box office. Initially, the producers of "Mukunda" had planned to release the movie in theatres across the globe as a Sankranthi treat on 14 January 2014.
"Gopala Gopala", starring Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh in the lead roles, is also slated to release on the same date. So it was speculated that this Sankranthi will witness a war between the two mega heroes at the box office.
Some people in film industry have doubts over the success and prospects of "Mukunda" at the box office. The makers seem to have understood this and advanced its release. As per the latest reports, they have decided to launch its audio on 3 December and release the film in theatres as a Christmas treat for the audience on 25 December.
The shooting of "Mukunda" began on 24 March and the film unit has recently wrapped it up. Currently, the movie is in the post-production stage and Varun Tej is now dubbing for it. Mickey J Meyer has composed the music and background score for the film.
"Mukunda" is touted to be a family entertainer with all mass masala elements like romance, action and comedy. "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" fame Srikanth Addala has written and directed the film, which has been jointly produced by Tagore Madhu and Nallamalapu Srinivas (Bujji) under the banner Leo Productions. V Manikandan has handled the cinematography for the film.
Varun Tej and Pooja Hegde are playing the lead roles in "Mukunda", while Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh and Brahmanandam appear in pivotal roles. Its promos have been successful in impressing the viewers. It should be seen whether the film will give a much needed break to debutante Varun Tej.
