The first look of the biopic on Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is finally out.
Sushant Singh Rajput, who will play the Indian skipper in the biopic "MS Dhoni - The Untold Story", is seen from behind in the poster, sporting Dhoni's no.7 jersey, with a cricket bat on his shoulder.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey of "A Wednesday" fame, the film had faced a few obstacles, according to initial reports.
Some reports claimed that Dhoni had charged a whopping amount to allow a film on his life story. Later, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) had objected to making the biopic.
However, a senior member of the BCCI played down those rumours.
"When have we ever interfered with what our cricketers do when they are not playing a match? All the major cricketers including Dhoni do so many ads, endorsing products. We do not interest ourselves in what the cricketers do when they are not playing cricket," said the BCCI official, according to Pink Villa.
And now, putting an end to all rumours, Dhoni's wife Sakshi took to Twitter to unveil the poster of the biopic on Thursday.
"Clearing out all those rumours being carried out past few days.It was all false.. Here you go ....BOOM !!!" she tweeted.
Interestingly, one of Rajput's sisters is also a state-level cricketer. The actor, who debuted on the big screen with Abhishek Kapoor's "Kai Po Che", has received immense praise for the enthusiam he showed in the biopic.
Considering the fact that Dhoni is the reigning captain of India and has a huge fan following, "MS Dhoni - The Untold Story" is expected to pull crowds to the theatres. The film is scheduled to hit the screens in 2015.
Meanwhile, Rajput has some other big projects in his kitty as well. The fabulous actor will also be seen in Shekhar Kapur's "Paani" and Dibakar Banerjee's "Detective Byomkesh Bakshi".
