MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (MSDTUS) has received superb response at the Indian box office on Friday morning and it is all set to become the second biggest opener of 2016 after Sultan.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which is based on the life of Indian cricketer MS Dhoni, is one of the most-awaited Bollywood movies of 2016. Its promos have garnered a lot of attention and its makers have promoted the movie widely. Along with MS Dhoni, Sushant Singh Rajput and other stars visited several media houses and toured some cities across the country to promote the movie.

The distributors of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story booked over 4,000 screens in the domestic market. The movie was released in Tamil and Telugu versions in South India. The hype and promotion helped the film record a superb advance booking for its opening day. After considering all these factors, trade experts predicted that the film would start with a bang and become one of top five biggest openers of 2016.
The screening of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story began earlier than the regular timings in several locations across the country and the movie received very good response in these early shows. The film registered an average of 70 percent occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes in the country. It ran to packed houses in several centres in the domestic market.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has received positive talk and the strong word of mouth is expected to take its business upwards in the afternoon and evening shows. The movie is expected to do record breaking collection at the box office on the first day.

As per early trends, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is likely to collect over Rs 20 crore at the Indian box office on the first day. The film is set to beat the collection record of Shah Rukh Khan's Fan, which collected Rs 19.20 crore on its opening day. The movie is likely to land in the second place in the list of top five biggest Bollywood openers of the year after Sultan, which collected Rs 36.54 crore on the first day.
