The biopic on the cricketer had collected Rs 127.12 crore nett at the domestic market by the end of Sunday. The movie started the weekdays on a slower note, but good enough to break box office records of Rustom and Airlift.
The day-wise breakup of the film's collection over the weekdays is Rs 63 lakh on Monday, Rs 61 lakh on Tuesday, Rs 60 lakh on Wednesday and Rs 54 lakh on Thursday. Thus, the 21 days total collection of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story stands at Rs 129.50 crore nett at Indian box office by the end of its 3rd week.
The movie on MS Dhoni has now become the second highest grossing Bollywood movie of 2016 after Salman Khan's Sultan. Also, it is the most successful biopic in the history of Hindi films.
The Sushant starrer has been running successfully ever since its release. The film had received positive response from the critics and strong word-of-mouth helped it to dominate the box office.
Not only in the domestic markets, it has put an impact at the overseas markets as well, becoming one of the highest worldwide grossers. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is expected to carry on the winning box office streak for some more days as there is no major release this week.
