Sushant Singh Rajput's MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has been having a brilliant run at the box office with steady collection. The movie has now added another feather in its cap as it has crossed the lifetime domestic collection of Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom.
The movie on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has completed 18 days at the Indian box office and has registered another record. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story collected Rs 127.12 crore nett at the domestic market by the end of Sunday, being just Rs 37 lakh behind the lifetime collection of Rustom.
The lifetime earning of Rustom is Rs 127.49 crore nett at Indian box office. Current trends and early estimates suggest that MS Dhoni biopic has broken the record of Rustom at domestic market. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story collected a little less than Rs 1 crore (approx) on Monday.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has been dominating the box office ever since its release. The film had opened with overwhelming numbers. With positive reviews from the critics and strong word of mouth, the film remained steady at the commercial circuit in spite of many other releases.
The film has also been performing excellent at the overseas market as its worldwide gross collection has also crossed Rs 200 crore mark, making MS Dhoni: The Untold Story a blockbuster. This is the biggest hit and first ever movie of Sushant to have entered the prestigious Rs 100 crore club.
With no major release in the coming week, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is likely to shatter some other box office records by the end of its third week.
