Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the movie on MS Dhoni completed 10 days at the box office on Sunday. While the film collected Rs 109.30 crore nett at the Indian box office by the end of its second weekend, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story earned Rs 28.63 crore at the overseas market till October 9.
"#MSDhoniTheUntoldStory – OVERSEAS – Total after Weekend 2 [till 9 Oct 2016]: $ 4.3 million [28.63 cr]... EXCELLENT," tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh. It has now become the 7th highest overseas grosser of this year.
With a domestic earning of Rs 109.30 crore nett, the film's gross collection stands at Rs 129 crore (approx) after 10 days. Thus, worldwide gross collection of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has reached Rs 157 crore (approx). It has emerged as one of the most successful biopics in the history of Bollywood.
The biopic on the cricketer had made a business of Rs 21.96 crore in the overseas market on its opening weekend itself. Although the pace of its collection at the foreign circuit slowed down as there have been other movie releases, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story managed to keep a hold at the worldwide box office.
Although Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya was released on October 7, it could not make much impact at the box office over its first weekend. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story remained more or less unaffected by its release. With no major release scheduled for the next week, except Sunny Leone-starrer Beiimaan Love, the movie on MS Dhoni is likely to carry on its winning streak at the box office for some more time.
