Actress Parineeti Chopra, who has been missing from the limelight ever since her last film "Kill Dil" bombed at the box office, is the latest actress to have been approached for the role of MS Dhoni's wife Sakshi Dhoni in the biopic.
Earlier, names of Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Kriti Sanon emerged for the lead actress' role in Neeraj Pandey's directorial film "M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story".
But the latest report suggests that the makers want to cast Parineeti for the role of Sakshi Dhoni as she would fit the bill.
"The makers are keen to sign Pari as she is as bubbly as Dhoni's wife. Moreover, she has worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in 'Shuddh Desi Romance' and their pairing had been appreciated. So, she is high up on the makers' wishlist to be cast opposite Sushant yet again," Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.
The film features Sushant Singh Rajput as Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film will have an ensemble cast, but so far only the lead actor's name has been confirmed.
In March, there were reports that Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan would play the role of cricketer Virat Kohli in the film. Also, there were reports that John Abraham and "Bigg Boss 8" winner Gautam Gulati have been approached for the film.
But there has been no official confirmation from the makers of "M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story".
"I have signed a non-disclosure agreement and am not allowed to say anything," director Pandey told Bollywood Life in March.
