USA Network's hit cyberpunk drama series "Mr Robot" will release its eagerly-awaited second season this summer. A premiere date was recently announced, much to the delight of fans.
"Mr Robot" Season 2 will premiere at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesday, July 13, and the season will consist of 10 episodes. This season is said to focus on the consequences of fsociety's hack on Evil Corp, along with "the illusion of control." You can check out the new promos for the upcoming season below.
The official announcement from USA Network reads, "Season two picks up after fsociety's 5/9 hack on Evil Corp and will explore the consequences of the attack, as well as the illusion of control. In addition to Malek and Slater, Portia Doubleday (Angela), Carly Chaikin (Darlene), Martin Wallström (Tyrell), Michael Cristofer (Phillip Price), and Stephanie Corneliussen (Joanna) are onboard for season two, which is currently shooting in New York City."
The network also revealed that Season 2 is all set to introduce a slate of recurring guest stars, including Craig Robinson, Sandrine Holt, Michael Maize, Dorothi Fox, Luke Robertson, and hip hop artist Joey Badass (Joey Bada$$).
With a super-successful first season behind, it's only natural for the makers to feel the pressure of living up to expectations. Talking about this in an earlier interview, showrunner and director Sam Esmail said, "The first season's critical acclaim and the response gave us a lot of confidence, but it's almost like the pressure kind of cancels it out. I'm back to square one, which is exactly where I think we should be in terms of approaching the story for the second season."
