Debates and anticipation over Pongal releases in Kollywood have begun early this year after Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal" and Vikram's "I" were confirmed for January release.
Cine goers and the fans of Ajith Kumar and Vikram are excited after the announcement of "Yennai Arindhaal" and "I" release for Pongal 2015. This has laid foundation for early debates, predictions and expectations over the film's performance.
Surveys are being conducted by many websites on various aspects of the films and they are coming up with interesting reports. The Hindu's online poll asked moviegoers questions on which movie would they like to watch first.
"Yennai Arindhaal" has got the maximum votes and has beaten "I" in the pre-release survey. The Ajith Kumar's film won the race by a huge margin as the film got 79% of votes. Vikram's "I" could only garner 20% with Vishal's "Ambala" getting merely one percent of the vote share.
However, a section of the audience feel that Ajith Kumar has the biggest fan following among netizens and this will easily ensure that the film gets good votes. According to them, the report will not give a complete picture and Vikram's "I" could do well among non-internet users.
Ajith's movie is comparatively of a lower than Shankar's "I", which is made on a huge budget. But makers of Vikram's film are confident of recovering the invested money through the three versions of the film. The film is set to release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
"Yennai Arindhaal" is directed by Gautham Menon and produced by AM Rathnam. The movie traces the journey of Satya Dev from 13 to 38 years. Trisha Krishnan and Anushka Shetty, who play the female leads in the Tamil movie, are part of his life.
"I" starring Vikram and Amy Jackson is bankrolled by Aascar Ravichandran. It is a romantic-thriller movie.
