American smartphone major Motorola Mobility (now a subsidiary of Lenovo) has officially unveiled the long-rumoured Moto Maxx in Brazil.
"Strength. Stamina. Sophistication. Those are just some of the qualities of the new Moto Maxx -- our most powerful and long-lasting smartphone to date," said the company.
Though the company refrained from specifying that the new Moto Maxx is the international version of the recently released Verizon Wireless exclusive Droid Turbo in the USA, the specifications and the body design were a sure give-away.
Sans the trademark 'DROID and 'Verizon' embellishment, the former model looks strikingly similar to Black Ballistic Nylon (aka Kevlar) Droid Turbo model and the internal hardware is pretty much the same too.
The new moniker -- Moto Maxx -- for the Motorola phone, simply has to do with 'Droid' being an exclusive trademark of Lucasfilm licensed to Verizon Wireless.
Moto Maxx boasts of a 5.2-inch Quad-HD (2560x1440p) display, and ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat powered by the 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 series quad-core processor with Motorola Mobile Computing System having one natural language processor and contextual computing processor. It is backed by 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB inbuilt memory.
Other stipulated features include 21.0-megapixel camera with Dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording, 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a high-capacity 3900 mAh battery which can run for close to a staggering 48 hours under mixed usage with just 3 hours of charging.
Like Droid Turbo, Moto Maxx also boasts of ballistic nylon (metalised glass fiber) that offers a distinctive design while providing ultimate durability. And also, underneath this coating, it features Kevlar®, a material that is known to be five times stronger than steel.
Motorola Moto Maxx Price and Release Date Details:
The company has confirmed that Moto Maxx will available for purchase in Brazil starting 5 November for BRL 2,199 (around $877/€701/₹53,900) and in mid-November, it will be released in Mexico and later to other Latin American regions.
As of now, there is no word on whether Motorola has any plans of releasing Moto Maxx in India or any other regions. But it won't be a surprise if it debuts in India, as Motorola has already emerged as one of the top smartphone seller in the subcontinent.
