Motorola Moto Z India release details revealed

Lenovo-owned Motorola has included India in the first phase of the global Moto Z series roll-out schedule.

"Mods with the Moto Z will define a new category of products. We intend to continue to invest and grow our market share in India. We started early and started with online only. We now have nine percent market share and will now come offline as well, " BGR India quoted Aymar de Lencquesaing, senior vice president, Lenovo Group, co-president, mobile business group, chairman & president, Motorola Mobility, as saying.

Motorola considers India a big smartphone market with huge growth potential for the company and intends to release Moto Z in September or by the end of October in the country, Motorola officials confirmed.

Last week, in the Moto Z post-launch press release , the company had announced that the flagship phone will be made available in international markets in September, but refrained from specifically mentioning names of the regions. This apparently led to speculations that Motorola might delay the launch of Moto Z series in India. Now, with the official announcement, the rumours have been put to the rest.

Besides Moto Z, the company has confirmed to launch modular accessory series - Moto Mods, which include speakers, projector, battery pack-cum cover, camera lens, style covers and others in India.

For the uninitiated, the new Moto Z is made of military aircraft-grade aluminium and stainless steel with water resistant nano-coating. In the front, it sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass Shield.

It comes packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB internal memory, 13MP primary camera, a 5MP front snapper and a 2600mAh battery.
