To provide better perspective on the new Motorola phone, we have listed key features of Moto X Style, which are certain to help you make an informed decision before buying one.
Display:
The upcoming Moto X Style sports 5.7-inch QHD based LCD display. It promises rich viewing experience as the phone's screen boasts pixel density of 520 ppi (pixels per inch) and also comes protected with Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 series shield.
Processor:
Moto X Style houses a 64-bit class Snapdragon 808 series Hexa-core CPU used in LG G4 and the recently unveiled Xiaomi Mi 4C. But, what separates the Motorola phone from the rivals is that it houses the company's proprietary Motorola Mobile Computing System, which has two separate processors- one natural language processor and a contextual computing processor, taking the core-count to 10.
Natural language processor powers the 'Touchless Control' feature of Moto X Style; the phone's mics are always awake waiting for user to say the trigger phase 'OK, Google Now' to perform functions like setting an alarm, put reminder on the calendar, ask direction on Google map, play music and many other operations without having to use the finger, he/she can just speak to the phone.
On the other hand, 'Contextual' processor with the help of motion sensors, enables the smartphone to be self aware of the environment to display time or any notifications on the screen.
The device will know when the user picks the phone out of his pocket, or picks up the phone from the desk near to him and then only the select pixels of the display lights up to show the time or any pending notifications without having to unlock the phone.
It is backed by Adreno 418 graphic engine, sumptuous 3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB (in select markets only).
Near Pure Android OS experience:
Moto X Style runs on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS void of un-necessary bloat-wares to cram the storage space. Moto X Style users can enjoy near-vanilla android experience similar to Google affiliated Nexus series devices.
It also comes with Motorola's official Moto App, wherein the user can configure gesture action, display settings and notifications and other value-added features.
Furthermore, Motorola has confirmed that the new Moto X Style will be getting the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update really soon.
Camera:
Moto X Style houses top-notch camera. It boasts a 21.0-megapixel camera with Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) flash with dual LED flash, Burst mode, night mode, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus), Quick capture (twirl smartphone twice to launch camera) and Video HDR.
It also comes with 4K video recording feature as well.
And on the front, it comes packed with a 5mp camera backed by wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, 1.4µm pixel for better low-light image capture. It also features night mode option, flash (software based) and slow motion video options as well.
Water-proof coating:
Like all previous flagship Moto X series, the new Style series also comes with water-proof coating, but with a rider. The nano-coating on the phone only protects the phone from rain or accidental water splashes. The phone will not survive in underwater like its mid-range sibling, Moto G (3rd Gen), which can stay underwater for 30 minutes.
Value added feature:
4G-LTE (Cat 6.0):
The company claims that the new Moto X Style comes with advanced 4G-LTE with Category Six certification. This means the phone users can enjoy 300 mbps download speed, that is twice faster than Category Four based phones available in current crop of 4G phones. We like to remind readers that Category Six Internet speed depends on the carrier network and region.
