Image of the much-awaited Motorola Moto X 3rd Generation aka Moto X (2015) has been leaked amid speculations on its release date and specifications expected. Interestingly, picture of the purported device has hinted some features it might have.
Motorola is yet to announce the release date details of its upcoming device dubbed as the Moto X 3rd Generation aka Moto X (2015) but several reports have claimed that it might see the light of day in September this year.
A new device codenamed Motorola Calisto, which is believed to be the Moto X 3rd Gen, has been spotted on Zauba website that keeps track of imports and exports in India, giving a clear hint that its launch is not far off. The device, which is being imported to India for testing, comes with a tag of ₹29,775 (approximately $464 / €418) though it is very likely to vary when it hits the stores.
Now, Facebook community page called Hellomotohk (via STJSGadgets) has leaked purported image of the Moto X 3rd Gen. A total of three images have been uploaded on the page but only is believed to be the upcoming device with the other two being dubbed as an old variant of Moto X 2015 and a "mysterious phone."
The image, which shows only the rear view of the purported smartphone, has hinted that it will feature wireless charger but without fingerprint sensor.
Motorola is tight-lipped on the features and specifications of the Moto X 3rd Gen but several conflicting reports have surfaced on it. According to GSMArena, the device bearing model number XT1542 will come with features like 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 pixels, 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, 32 or 64 GB internal memory and 4GB RAM, 16 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper, and 3280 mAh battery.
Interestingly, a report by STJSGadgets on features of Moto X 3rd Gen is in sync with information provided by GSMArena except for the processor. STJSGadgets claimed that the upcoming smartphone would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC and not Snapdragon 810 as reported.
