Snapshots of the rumoured, Moto Maxx aka Droid Turbo has surfaced online ahead of the launch this week.
A Sao Paulo resident going by the name, Guilherme Henrique via Google+ account, has leaked the purported pictures of the Moto Max. Once the word got out in the media, it was taken down immediately. but by then, many tech blogs had taken screenshots of the page.
In one of the images (courtesy, Android Police), smartphone's plastic display cover reveals device's key details such as 3,900mAh battery, turbo-charging feature, 21mp main camera, Quad-HD (2,560x1,440p) display, 64GB memory and 2.7GHz Snapdragon quad-core CPU.
The above listed features are all present in the recently unveiled Motorola phone, hinting that this mystery device is indeed international version of Droid Turbo.
To further give impetus to the rumours, Motorola has even sent out press invites to select media houses for a launch event scheduled on 5 November (Wednesday) at 10am.
In the invitation (courtesy, Tecnoblog), it has shown a half-image of smartphone, which uncannily looks similar to - Black Ballistic Nylon (aka Kevlar) - Droid Turbo model, which was launched just days ago (28 October, to be precise) in USA.
[Note: Motorola's Droid series smartphones always been exclusively sold in the USA through Verizon Wireless since its inception in 2009.]
The upcoming Motorola device will sell under the moniker - 'Moto Maxx'. It simply has to do with 'Droid' being an exclusive trademark of Lucasfilm licensed to Verizon Wireless.
As of now, there is no word on whether Moto Maxx will be released in India other emerging markets. But it won't be a surprise if it debuts in India, as Motorola has already emerged as one of the top smartphone seller in the subcontinent.
For the uninitiated, Droid Turbo boasts of 5.2-inch Quad-HD (2,560x1,440p) display, and ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat powered by the 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 series quad-core processor with Motorola Mobile Computing System having – one natural language processor and contextual computing processor. It is backed by 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB inbuilt memory.
Other stipulated features include 21mp camera with Dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording, 2mp snapper on the front and a high-capacity 3,900mAh battery, which can run the phone for close to staggering 48 hours under mixed usage with just three hours of charging.
That's not all; Droid Turbo boasts of ballistic nylon (metalised glass fibre) that offers a distinctive design while providing ultimate durability. And also, underneath this coating, DROID Turbo features Kevlar, a material that is known to be five times stronger than steel.
