Last week, Motorola sent out invites for a press meet scheduled in London and New Delhi on 13 May. While the company had refrained from specifying the significance of the occasion, a report has surfaced online suggesting that Moto E smartphone will be the star attraction of the event.
Technology blog, AndroidOS.in while leafing through Zauba.com, an Indian export-import logistical company database, has stumbled up on the shipment details of the Motorola Moto E, suggesting the devices have already landed in India (Bangalore) from China, almost confirming that Motorola's next week's event will witness the unveiling of budget device Moto E. There is also a strong possibility of the device being made available for purchase on the same day.
Each unit (Moto E codenamed XT1022, a dual-SIM model) has been priced at ₹6,330. While the final price is expected to be more with the inclusion of local tax, its MRP probably won't exceed ₹9,000. With the introduction of Moto E under sub-₹10,000 price-bracket, the brand is certain to shake-up the budget segment ruled by the domestic players, like its elder sibling Moto G did in the mid-range smartphone sector in India.
According to previous reports, Moto E is said to feature 4.2-inch HD (720x1280p) and ship with Android v4.4 KitKat OS, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory, 5.0-megapixel camera and a 1900 mAh battery all tucked under the compact slim body measuring just 6.2 mm thickness.
Besides India and UK, Moto E is expected to debut in Latin American regions- Brazil and Mexico as well.
