Motorola's budget smartphone Moto E (2nd Gen) models have received a major price cut in India.
The company's official e-retailer Flipkart has slashed Rs 1,000 on both 3G and 4G Moto E (2nd Gen) models. Now the devices can be grabbed for Rs 5,999 and Rs 6,999 respectively.
Furthermore Flipkart is offering an additional Rs 2,000 discounts via exchange deal. Prospective buyers who are ready to part their old smartphone can buy 3G and 4G Moto E (2 Gen) models for as low as Rs 3,999 andRs 4,999 bucks respectively (HERE).
With the price-cut, Moto E (2 Gen) will now be able to give a stiff challenge to popular brands like Xiaomi Redmi 2, Coolpad Dazen 1, Micromax Canvas Spark and Yu Yuphoria and other domestic brands.
For the uninitiated, 4G and 3G models of Moto E (2 Gen) have pretty much same hardware configuration except the SoC (System on Chip). The former houses more advanced 64-bit class 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 series SoC (System on Chip), whereas the latter comes packed with 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 series processor.

In related development, early this month, Motorola, probably to clear stocks in India, had also slashed Moto G (2nd Gen) price in India ahead of its successor's launch. The company has confirmed a press event on 28 July in New Delhi.
