The Indian arm of the American technology, Motorola has reportedly confirmed to host an event early next month.
Motorola India has begun sending out invites to select media houses for the event scheduled on 5 September at New Delhi, reported BGR. Many believe that the company would launch the much awaited successors of Moto X and G series smartphones along with new Moto 360 smartwatch.
Giving further impetus to the speculations, BGR India, while leafing through the database of Zauba.com, a local logistics firm, stumbled upon the shipment manifests of the new Motorola phone (codename: XT1068) units imported from China to India (Bangalore). Previous reports have indicated that the device XT1068 is Moto G successor G2.
The news comes a few days after the company confirmed to hold an event at Chicago, USA on 4 September [Read full report, here].
In the cryptic invite, it has used popular paper fortune teller game via the origami art – Cootie Catcher, to spell out the details of the event. The four coloured craft paper alternate with phrases- Choose to Discover, Choose to Have Fun, Choose a New Experience and Choose to Join Us and between the phrases, Motorola shows-off two phone icons- one with characters- 'X' and another with 'G', a wristwatch symbol and an earphone, giving away the hint that Motorola is certain to unveil the much awaited Moto X, G successors, Moto 360 smartwatch and a new headphone in the upcoming event. The company's initiation of launching new devices in India soon after global unveiling is an example how times have changed and speaks volume of India's economic power, especially smartphone market, which is said to be the world's third largest handset business arena (after China and USA).
According to leaked benchmark results twirling on the web, Moto X successor, X+1 reportedly flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD display, Android L OS, Snapdragon 801 series CPU, 2GB RAM, 12.0-megapixel camera, 5.0-megapixel front camera and 2,900 mAh battery.
Whereas, Moto G+1 aka G2 is expected to feature bigger 5.0-inch screen with HD resolution, Android L OS, Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 8.0-megapixel camera and a 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front.
As far as Moto 360 is concerned, it will be powered by Google Android Wear OS, and is said to go beyond being just a time piece. The device houses value-added features such as water-proof certifications (can withstand 3.3 feet underwater for up to 30 minutes), stainless steel case, built-in optical heart-rate monitor, pedometer, voice-activated command response system, vibration alert, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi.
