Motorola DROID Turbo users are very likely to receive Android 5.1 Lollipop update soon after months of waiting. The upgraded version of Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop is expected to be rolled out to the device next month.
Verizon device test engineer, Jose Arturo posted an image of his Motorola DROID Turbo device running on Android 5.1 Lollipop on his Google+ account and revealed that it would be released in mid-June, according to Droid Life. He went on to talk about bugs they need to work on, slowness and other details.
However, Arturo's post on Android 5.1 Lollipop couldn't be found on his Google+ account anymore at the time of filling this story. Interestingly, he has put up another post that reads: "Sorry followers... I got in trouble for Turbo announcement... Need to keep my mouth shut from now on... Enjoy Verizon services and our great devices."
The good news is Motorola DROID Turbo may get the Android 5.1 directly and not the Android 5.0 though some users must be not happy for taking so long to get the firmware.
The Motorola DROID Turbo, which was released in October last year, sports a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has a 1440 x 2560 pixels (565 ppi pixel density). It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, comes packed with 32/64 GB internal memory, 3 GB RAM, 21 MP main camera and 2 MP front snapper, and non-removable Li-Po 3900 mAh battery
