After a week of teasing, Lenovo-owned Motorola officially launched the company's popular mid-range Moto Z Play (2nd generation) in New Delhi on June 8.
The new Moto Z2 Play will be made available on both online (exclusive to Flipkart) and brick-and-mortar stores across India from 15 June on wards for Rs, 27,999.

The company has also kicked off its pre-booking service today, and is offering mouth watering deals, which includes 50 percent flat discount on select Moto Mods and also zero EMI interest rates and zero processing charges as well.
Consumers, who chose to pre-order the Moto Z2 Play, will also get free Armour pack, which includes aluminium case across frame, a sturdy cover on the back, a Selfie stick and a protective display guard. Pre-order offer is valid from 8 June to 14 June.

The new Moto Z2 Play comes with a slim design language, around 15 percent thinner than its predecessor. Despite generous use of metal, company has managed to keep its thickness to just 5.99mm.
However, this limitation has forced the company to reduce the battery capacity to 3,000mAh cell, 510mAh less compared to first generation Moto Z Play. Having said that, the cell power is enough to last for the whole day, considering that it runs on pure Android OS. And also, it comes with fast charging capability, where-in a short 15-minute charging is enough the keep the phone running for close to 7 hours of talk-time.
Other stipulated features include 5.5-inch full HD IPS screen, Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 12MP dual autofocus pixel camera with dual-LED flash, a 5MP snapper with dedicated single-LED flash support and Type-C USB port.
Besides the Moto Z2 Play, the company also launched the new line of Moto Mods -- Moto Gamepad, JBL Sound Boost 2, Moto TurboPower pack and Moto Style Shell.
Moto Gamepad turns the Moto Z series phone into a handheld gaming console. It comes with dual control sticks, D-pad, four actions buttons and an in-built 1035mAh cell of its own to extend the phone's battery life, while you play the games.
JBL Sound Boost 2 also comes with its battery that allows up to 10 hours of music playtime. It also boasts water-repellent coating to withstand accidental spill or splash. It comes in red, blue or black, features a more premium design with fabric and improved contours and built-in kickstand promises truly immersive audio-visual experience. It can be operated with a smartphone app for volume control and other functions, as well.
Moto TurboPower pack instantly add an extra day of battery life It recharges your phone fast (up to 15W). Once the charge is drained, user can plug it in and power up to 50 percent of capacity in just 20 minutes, Motorola claims.
Moto Style Shell comes with Wireless Charging, which adds fast wireless charging (up to 10W) to any Moto Z series models.
However, the company is yet to announce price and availability details of the new Moto Mods.
