Lenovo-owned Motorola's flagship Moto Z will be released in India next month, the company confirmed during the unveiling of the new budget smartphone, the Moto E3 Power, in New Delhi on 19 September.
"We will launch eight new devices, of which six we have already announced, in this festive season. This includes the Moto Z," Sudhin Mathur, Lenovo India executive director, Mobile Business Group, said.
Though Mathur did not reveal the details of the specific timeline of the device's release and its price, rumour has it that the company may roll it out in the second or third week of October.
In addition to the Moto Z smartphone, the company is also expected to launch the modular accessory series — the Moto Mods, which include speakers, projector, battery pack-cum-cover, camera lens, style covers and others.
What will be the cost of Moto Z in India?
The Moto Z series hit stores in the United States a few weeks ago, with Droid tag (Verizon exclusive), for $624 (approx. €563/Rs 41,830). We expect this Motorola device to cost much more in India, considering the duty tax levied for importing it into the country.
