Lenovo-owned Motorola is reportedly planning to release a series of devices this year. It is reported that a total of nine handsets belonging to Moto Z, Moto X, Moto G, Moto E, and Moto C series are in the offing.
Here is a break-up of devices that are expected to be released in 2017:
Expect two devices from Moto Z series – Moto Z Play (2017) and Moto Z Force (2017). It was earlier reported that the smartphone manufacturer would kill the Moto X family, but it has now emerged that a new variant from the series is in the offing. The handset is expected to be named Moto X4 and not Moto X (2017) as speculated in the past.

According to reports that have appeared so far, Moto X4 aka Moto X (2017) will feature a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, an Android Nougat operating system, a 4GB of RAM, a 64GB internal memory (with microSD card slot), and a 3,800 mAh battery with QuickCharge support.
The device is also expected to feature a metal body, a fingerprint scanner and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It is expected to see the light of day in the third quarter of this year.
Motorola has already launched two handsets from Moto G series – G5 and G5 Plus – but reports have claimed that Moto G5S aka Moto GS and Moto G5S Plus aka GS+ will be released this year. In the Moto C series, two handsets namely Moto C and Moto C Plus are expected in the next few months.
It is also reported that Motorola will launch Moto E (2017) with a 5-inch HD display, 2.5D curved glass and fingerprint sensor, and Moto E Plus (2017) sporting a 5.5-inch display.
