Earlier in the week, Motorola India released the Moto X Force teaser with a caption that said "coming soon". Additionally, it also showed-off the device's shatter-proof feature and mocked rivals Samsung Galaxy S series and Apple iPhones for being feeble.
While this apparently led many to believe that Motorola might officially launch the flagship Moto X Force by this month end, a new report has emerged that says otherwise.
IBNLive citing sources from Motorola has claimed that the company initially planned to launch Moto X Force in mid-January, but later decided against it. Instead it will host an event on 2 February.
IBTimes India tried to communicate with Motorola representative via e-mail and we are awaiting a response from the company.
From what we have gathered, Moto X Force is said to be priced anywhere between Rs. 40,000 and Rs.50,000. Considering the previous devices' release patterns, the new Motorola phone is expected to be sold exclusively via Flipkart.
For the uninitiated, Moto X Force is a global variant of Droid Turbo 2, which is sold exclusively by Verizon Wireless in the USA.
The main USP of Moto X Force is its rugged display, which is said to be the most durable display protective gear in the smartphone industry.
It boasts of the company's proprietary "Moto ShatterShield" display technology, which comprises five layers -- Aluminium chassis to form the rigid core, flexible AMOLED screen, two layered touchscreen panels, interior lens to provide clear visibility of contents and exterior lens to provide additional protection -- so that the phone's display is capable of absorbing shock from the impact and is guaranteed not to shatter, says the company.
On the back (of base model), it boasts ballistic nylon (metalised glass fiber) that offers a distinctive design while providing ultimate durability. Underneath this coating, Moto X Force features Kevlar, a material which is known to be five times stronger than steel.
Under the hood, it houses the powerful Snapdragon 810 series Octa-core in addition to the company's proprietary Mobile computing system comprising natural language processor, contextual computing processor, 550 MHz Adreno 430 graphics engine backed by 3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB inbuilt memory.
It also houses a high capacity 3760 mAh battery that can keep the phone running for close to 48 hours of talk time. The phone also features Turbo Power technology, where in the phone can get 13 hours of power from just 15 minutes of charging.
