Motorola has a strong presence in the affordable smartphone segment and it is looking to gain similar supremacy in the mid-range and premium category. With the launch of the Moto Z series, the company has demonstrated a fine work of art, but the Moto X is bound to make a comeback next year with equally impressive features and specifications.
New images of the Moto X 2017 edition were leaked online, shedding light on several details of the phone. According to the photos obtained by TechDroider, the new Moto X will feature a metal chassis and a fingerprint scanner on the home button instead of the rear panel, as seen in the some of the Moto smartphones.
Other technical details of the rumoured Moto X 2017 remain unclear at the moment. The leaked photo shows the rear panel of the device, confirming that the Moto X successor will not support Moto Mods. There are no connector pins for Moto Mods in the Moto X 2017.
As per the report, the Moto X 2017, along with other Moto smartphones such as Moto E, C and M will be developed by a Lenovo team. The Moto Z and Moto G series will be developed under Motorola's supervision.
The authenticity of these new rumours could not be independently verified, but it is being reported to hold some level of accuracy. 2017 is going to be an exciting year for smartphones and we don't have many days left to welcome the New Year and all the goodness with it.
