Moto M, which was unveiled in China last month, is set to hit Indian stores on December 13. Moto has aleady got the G4 series to cater to consumers looking for sub-Rs 15,000 smartphones, while Moto Z series covers the range priced at Rs. 25,000 and above. The new Moto M aims to cover the void between the Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 24,000 price range in the highly competitive Indian smartphone market.
Moto M houses a good set of internal hardware and also looks visually appealing. To provide a better perspective on the Moto M we have listed the top five features that make the new device look compelling enough for purchase.

Design, build quality and display:
Moto has been teasing several key features of the Moto M for some days now, and among them, the company has been more vocal about the device's build quality and design language.
As advertised, Moto M does boast an elegant design and its gold-hued body makes it more visually appealing. The Moto M comes with curved edges around the corners and the antenna lines on the top and bottom at the back sport a matching dark colour, which increases the style quotient of the smooth metal cover on the back.
The contours around the edge are also made of sturdy high-grade material and the chaffered metallic frame offers a good grip.
To make the phone more durable, the company has used special water-repellent nano-coating inside and outside of the Moto M, to sustain accidental water splash.
However, Moto M owners should not take it along while on a swim. It does not come with the necessary IP certifications.
It features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920x1080p) super AMOLED display, which consumes less energy as compared to the LCD panels used in rival brands.

Camera:
Another key aspect of Moto M is its camera hardware. It boasts a feature-rich 16MP camera, which comes with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), LED flash, 1µm pixel size lens, full HD video recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, Auto-HDR and panorama features.
On the front, it houses an equally impressive 8MP selfie camera, with 85-degree wide angle field of view and ¼-inch sensor having 1.12 µm pixel size.

Security:
Moto claims that the new Moto M is incorporated with biometric technology-based fingerprint sensor having top-notch pattern reading ability, which is more accurate than the rival brands.
For ease of access, the fingerprint reader has been placed on the back of the phone, just below the camera module.

Audio:
Moto's parent company, Lenovo, has for long been incorporating state-of-the-art audio systems in its Vibe series phones. Now, it has brought the feature to the Moto M. It boasts Dolby Atmos audio and is backed by active noise cancellation with dedicated microphone, thus guaranteeing the rich audio listening experience via loud speakers.

Battery:
To power the 5.5-inch full HD screen, the company has used a massive 3,050mAh battery, which should be more than enough to keep the phone running for more than a day under mixed usage. Even if used extensively, it can last for around 12 to 15 hours.
Another notable aspect of the Moto M is that it comes with Type-C port having fast charging capability, making it one of the few smartphones in the mid-range segment to boast this feature.
The new Moto M is expected to be exclusively available on Flipkart.
