Motorola is all set to unveil the fourth-generation Moto G series in India on Tuesday, but spoilers are ruining the surprise. While several rumours about the Moto G4 and G4 Plus have made headlines in recent days, the latest leak comes hours before the launch event in New Delhi at 3 p.m.
Moto G4 Plus was pictured in its full glory ahead of the official debut in Mexico, where Motorola is expected to launch the new handsets on Tuesday, BGR reported. The latest leak gives an early look at the device and its official name. The retail packaging of the device gives away a few essential specifications, but the price at large remains a mystery.
The rear side of the retail box shows Moto G4 Plus featuring a 5.5-inch Full HD display, an octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The packaging also revealed a 16-megapixel primary camera with PDAF and a 5MP front-snapper. A 3,000mAh battery with TurboCharging support powers the handset, which the company claims offers six hours of usage with just 15 minutes of charge.
Other details include 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options for connectivity. The handset runs Android Marshmallow out of the box.
Besides the retail packaging, the G4 Plus was also pictured to show the front and rear design. It looks like Motorola has included a fingerprint scanner in the home button of the Moto G4 Plus. The rear panel shows the "M" logo and a pill-shaped camera setup to house the sensor, LED flash and laser autofocus. The back panel gets a matte finish and appears to be removable, BGR India reported.
At the event, Motorola is expected to launch the Moto G4, which could be the affordable variant with toned-down specifications. Both handsets are expected to be available exclusively on Amazon India. Motorola is live-streaming the event through its YouTube channel starting 3:30 p.m. IST.
