More images of Volkswagen's upcoming powerful hatchback, the Polo GTI, has emerged online, hinting at the launch of the model in the country. The German carmaker, Volkswagen, has been testing the powerful version of the Polo on the Indian roads for quite sometime now.
Caught on camera by CarandBike, the latest images of the Polo GTI show the model in its completely-disguised form. The three-door powerful hatch is expected to be launched in India in the second half of this year. To be brought to India as CBUs (completely built units), the Polo GTI is expected to be priced at over Rs. 20 lakh.
Powering the Polo GTI is a 1.8-litre four-cylinder TSI petrol mill that can churn out 192bhp of power with seven-speed DSG gearbox. The hatchback, which had made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, will come equipped with safety features such as ABS, ESP and Hill-hold functions and airbags. Other features expected include new front and rear bumpers with a GTI badge and LED DRLs, honeycomb-styled radiator grille rear-spoiler, tail light clusters in dark red, a black grained diffuser and chrome dual exhaust tailpipes.
Inside the cabin of the Polo GTI, expect the hatchback to come with a new steering wheel, instrument cluster and sports seats. In India, the Polo GTI will take on the likes of Fiat Punto Abarth.
