Tata Nexon-based compact SUV Osprey, codenamed X104, continues testing on the Indian roads and the prototype of the model has been caught on camera once again, this time on Pune-Goa highway ahead of its expected launch in India by the end of next year.

The prototype of Tata Nexon aka Osprey was seen heavily camouflaged, hiding its entire front, rear and even the side profiles of the models from the eagle-eyed photographers. Caught on camera by the folks at GaadiWaadi, the latest spy shots of Nexon give a fairly good idea about the road-presence of the model. In the pictures, we can see a roof-like protruding structure on top that is believed to be the cargo box and the strong SUV front with high ground clearance.

Tata Nexon, the compact SUV, is expected to draw power from 1.2-litre petrol Revotron engine and the 1.3-litre Multijet engine that also does duty in Bolt and Zest. There have also been rumours about a new 1.5-litre petrol engine from the Revotron family that is likely to develop a power of 100bhp and a new 1.5-litre multijet diesel engine Fiat is currently working on.

Tata Nexon, the concept of which was revealed at the Auto Expo 2014, will rival Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in India when launched next year. Rumours are rife that the model could be showcased at the Auto Expo 2016, which will happen in February. Tata Nexon is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 6-10 lakh in the domestic market.
