A fresh batch of spy shots of Maruti Suzuki's upcoming compact SUV, codenamed YBA, has hit the web, hinting that the launch of the model in India is just around the corner.
Snapped by CarWale, the latest spy shots show Maruti YBA hiding under significant amount of camouflage, thus obstructing the key details of the model. YBA SUV, a sub-4m model based on Suzuki iV-4 concept SUV that was seen at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, is expected to hit the domestic market in this financial year. According to some reports, YBA may be launched around December this year.
The previous spy shots had indicted that YBA SUV would come with DRL headlight and a large round fog lamp at front. The car is expected to house features like key-less entry, push start/stop button and touchscreen infotainment system, airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). As far as pricing is concerned, YBA is likely to cost between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 8.2 lakh.
The engine line-up of YBA is likely to include 1.2-litre K-Series engine and 1.3 litre Fiat sourced diesel engine. Although previous reports had stated that YBA could get Suzuki's self-developed 1.5-litre diesel engine, recent reports suggested the introduction of new 1.5-litre could be pushed to 2018.
Rumour has it that the upcoming YBA could also get Maruti's latest SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) technology.
