In just a few days, Indian auto aficionados will be able to get their hands on the new Maruti premium hatchback Baleno. The Baleno is scheduled to be launched in India on 26 October and ahead of its arrival in the market, the hatchback has been snapped once again, but this time showing the difference in the front grille of the variants of the model.
Snapped by Gaadiwaadi, the new set of spy shots -- which seemed to have been taken inside the company's plant -- show the model's base variant, Sigma. From the pictures, it is clear that Baleno Sigma flaunts a two-slat grille that is different from other models. Interestingly, the front grille of the spotted prototype seemed to have missed out on the chrome-touch.
From what we know, Baleno Sigma will come equipped with features like central locking, front power windows, power steering with tilt function, anti-theft security, front seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters and seat belt reminder for driver seats.
Baleno will be launched in four trims: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Under the hood, the Baleno will be powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine developing 83bhp and 115Nm of torque, and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that will churn out 74bhp and 190Nm of torque.
Both the engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the petrol engine is also available with CVT automatic gearbox. While the DDiS diesel engine is tuned to deliver "fuel efficiency of 27.39kmpl", the petrol unit returns "fuel efficiency of 21.4kmpl".
Maruti Baleno, the second car to go on sale via the new Nexa premium dealerships, will be open for booking from 14 October (Wednesday). As for pricing, the speculations on the web suggest the cost of the model will be between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh.
