The first video song of Fahadh Faasil-starrer "Monsoon Mangoes" was released online on 2 January. The item song "Rosie", featuring Jacob Gregory, who will be seen as a new superstar with a superhit film set in the backdrop of a dance bar of the 1980s, has been released by prominent Malayalam music label Muzik247.
Manoj Kuroor has penned the lyrics for this fun and peppy number sung by Shreya Ghoshal. Jakes Bejoy has composed the music for the song.
Directed by Abi Varghese of Malayalam sitcom "Akkara Kazhchakal"-fame, "Monsoon Mangoes" is touted as a comedy entertainer that also has Iswarya Menon, Vijay Raaz, Vinay Forrt, Tovino Thomas, Sanju Sivaram, Jacob Gregory, Nandu K, Josukutty V, Sajini S and Thampy Antony in pivotal roles.
The 2-hour-5-minute comedy entertainer tells the story of an amateur filmmaker named DP Pallickal, played by Fahadh, who claims to be the next Steven Spielberg. He is passionate about filmmaking, and sets out to make an epic Malayalam film, said to be first of its kind, from the US.
While Vijay will be seen as old washed-up Hindi actor Prem Kumar, Vinay will be seen as Fahadh's assistant director Miguel.
The movie, told in the backdrop of the US, is co-scripted by Abi, Naveen Bhaskar and Matt Grubb. While Lukasz Pruchnik has handled the cinematography, editing has been done by Don Max.
Produced under the banner of Kayal Films by Antony P Thekkek and Prema P Thekkek, "Monsoon Mangoes" is expected to hit screens on 15 January.
