Defending I-League champions Mohun Bagan have been in sensational form after dropping to the AFC Cup 2016 from the AFC Champions League this season. The Indian side have won both their previous fixtures of the competition with very bright results.

The Mariners got past Maziya in their opening match of the competition in the most emphatic fashion possible. Bagan thumped the Maldivian outfit 5-2, with goals coming from Jeje Lalpekhlua, Cornell Glen and Sony Norde. While Jeje and Glen scored a brace each in the game, Norde got one more goal for Mohun Bagan against Maziya.
Their stunning form followed in the next game as well. Mohun Bagan thrashed Hong Kong outfit South China 4-0 in their home at the Mongkok Stadium.
The terrific trio of Norde, Glen and Jeje remained on the scoresheet once again in the match, while Lenny Rodrigues also found his scoring boots in the AFC Cup 2016. Bagan went atop Group G of the tournament after the tremendous show.
Apart from the lethal goalscoring trio, midfield general Katsumi Yusa has remained very impressive for Mohun Bagan. The Japanese has picked up a lot of assists so far in the competition and his hunger to create chances gives a great deal of positivity to Sanjoy Sen's side going ahead in the season.
Everything so far has gone well for the Indian side but will the unavailability of Cornell Glen for the match be a major reason for worry? The Trinidad and Tobago World Cupper has pulled his groin and will be unavailable for the match against Yangon.
"Cornell Glen is not fit and he hasn't travelled. He has a groin strain. Balwant Singh too is recovering and will not play a part," Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen informed Goal. "I think Subash Singh is fit and he might get a chance to play a part in the match but you have to wait to see."
The Myanmar side meanwhile have plans in place to counter the terrific attacking line of Mohun Bagan. "I know they [Mohun Bagan] have a bunch of good attacking players, the likes of Sony (Norde), Jeje (Lalpekhlua), Katsumi (Yusa) but we have a collective plan," Yangon United coach Marjan Sekulovski told Goal.
"We won't be giving anyone individual attention, that's not how we play."
If Mohun Bagan earn their third-straight win of the competition, they get a huge boost of qualifying to the knockout stages of AFC Cup 2016.
