In the upcoming Malayalam movie Odiyan, Mohanlal will portray the character of Manikyan based on the Kerala folklore on Odiyan, who are men possessing the shapeshifting ability and can assume animal form.
After upping the expectations of the audience with its unique promo videos, the makers of the Malayalam movie unveiled the "young look" of Mohanlal at 10 am on Wednesday, December 13.

"Odiyan Teaser. Unveiling the transition of #Odiyan Manickan. Presenting to you the young and vibrant Manickan in me who travelled back in time [sic]," the actor wrote while sharing the teaser on Facebook.
The character is heard describing his transformation in the promo video.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Mohanlal had released the promo teaser on the young days of Manikyan. A photo of the superstar's toned down avatar was doing the rounds on social media giving fitness goals for his fans. He is said to have shed 18 kg within 51 days of tireless training by an expert medical team from France.

The two schedules of the magical realism thriller, directed by VA Shrikumar Menon, have been wrapped up in Thenkurissy and Kashi. The makers are expected to resume the shooting of his next schedule in January 2018.
The big budget entertainer, bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas, has Manju Warrier, Prakash Raj, Siddique, Innocent, Narain, Kailash, Sana Althaf, Sarath Kumar in pivotal roles.
