After a dream start at the Kerala box office, superstar Mohanlal's latest Malayalam movie Oppam has been continuing its good run as the winner among the Onam releases in 2016. The Priyadarshan directorial, which was released on 8 September, is said to have made a gross collection of Rs 8.34 lakh from the multiplexes in Kochi alone on the opening day.
The latest we hear is that the crime thriller, in which Mohanlal plays the role of a visually challenged person, has become one of the fastest Malayalam movies to cross the Rs 1 crore mark at the multiplexes in the city. According to trade analysts, Oppam minted Rs 1.02 crore within 11 days of its release from Kochi multiplexes alone. The total Kerala collection of the Mohanlal starrer is believed to be Rs 17 crore after 11 days of theatrical run and it is still said to be running successfully with houseful shows throughout the state. Oppam will be released in Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand on 23 September.

Meanwhile, it is Dulquer Salmaan's 2014 movie Charlie, which is on the top spot in the list of fastest movie to enter the Rs 1 crore club. The family entertainer, helmed by Martin Prakkat, earned Rs 1.05 crore within nine days, followed by Nivin Pauly's Jacobinte Swargarajyam that collected Rs 1.05 crore in over a week of its grand run at the Kochi multiplexes.
Mohanlal's Oppam has been placed on the fourth position in the list after multi-starrer comedy entertainer Amar Akbar Anthony that is said to have made a collection of Rs 1 crore in 10 days from the multiplexes. Dulquer and Sai Pallavi's family thriller Kali also collected Rs 1 crore in less than two weeks of its theatrical run.
