The first song from the upcoming Mohanlal-starrer Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol that starts with the words Punnamada Kayal, was released online on Saturday, December 17. The superstar released the song via his Facebook page after the three-minute 48-second video was uploaded on the YouTube page of the production house, Weekend Blockbusters.
The song, which begins with Mohanlal cheering for a boat race team, also shows the happy family moments shared by the actor, unlike his serious avatar that was seen in the trailer of the film. It also features Meena, Aima Sebastian and Sanoop Santhosh, who will be seen as the family members of the superstar's character Unnachan in the directorial venture of Jibu Jacob.
Meanwhile, the trailer of the upcoming family entertainer opened to a fabulous response from the audience, and has been viewed over one million times in less than a week of its online release. The one-minute 29-second trailer had become the fifth most trending video on YouTube India upon its release on December 10.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol is expected to perform well at the box office in Kerala for being a Mohanlal-starrer, and also since it is the second directorial venture of Jibu, after the superhit Biju Menon-starrer Vellimoonga. The family entertainer also features Anoop Menon, Alencier Ley, Bindu Panicker, Srindaa Arhaan and Nedumudi Venu in significant roles. Meanwhile, the production venture of Sophia Paul, which was scheduled to hit theatres as a Christmas release on December 22, has been postponed due to the ongoing theatre strike in Kerala between producers and distributors' associations.
