Is Mohanlal the secret character in Prithviraj Sukumaran's Ezra?

Prithviraj Sukumaran's upcoming movie Ezra has been making headlines ever since it went on floors. The horror thriller of director Jay K also stars Tovino Thomas, Priya Anand, Babu Antony, Sudev Nair and Vijayaraghavan in significant roles.

Since the release of the teaser and trailer of the movie, netizens have raised doubts regarding the secret character featured in the opening and closing scenes in the videos. It shows a man standing next to a water body, holding a paper on which is written, "The spirit of Abraham Ezra dislocated from his body 1941 AD". 

Viewers are now of the opinion that the secret character is superstar Mohanlal, who has a body build similar to the man seen in the videos. Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that Mohanlal's name was included in the cast list in the Wikipedia page of the movie that was later edited to remove the name. 

However, a few netizens claim that the person seen in the first shot of the trailer is Prithviraj himself. "Nop it's prithviraj..I saw d shooting..it's at Marina mall thoppumpady..the opening scene that shows a person who holds a paper is notmohanlal..it's prithvi only [sic]," writes a netizen named Unní Xavìer.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj is all set to make his debut as a director. He has teamed up with Mohanlal, who plays the lead role in the movie, Lucifer. The movie is expected to start rolling in 2017 and is among the list of most-awaited projects in Malayalam. Mohanlal is currently awaiting the release of Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which is the directorial venture of Jibu Jacob of Vellimoonga fame. The family entertainer was scheduled to hit the screens as a Christmas release, but is expected to get postponed due to the theatre strike in Kerala.
