Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan is awaiting the release of his upcoming movie Kaabil, in which the actor plays the role of a blind person. The romantic action thriller is making waves all over the country since the release its official trailer.
The Sanjay Gupta directorial, which also stars Yami Gautam in the lead role, will be released in Kerala by superstar Mohanlal, who is basking in the success of crime thriller Oppam and action movie Pulimurgan.
"Hritik Roshan Starring Kaabil will be released in Kerala on January 26 by Aashirvad Release through Maxlab," reads the latest post on the Facebook page of Aashirwad Cinemas, which is co-owned by Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor.
It has to be noted that the actor had played the role of a blind man in the recent Priyadarshan directorial, which was opened to tremendous response from the Kerala audience. When the plot of Oppam was revealed, rumours had it that both the Mohanlal and Hrithik Roshan-starring movies would be similar as they go through a murder story. However, Priyadarshan had then come forward slamming the rumours.
Earlier, Mohanlal had bagged the theatrical rights of Rajinikanth's Kabali in Kerala for a whopping amount of Rs 7.5 crore beating the records of SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning and Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Theri.
The action thriller of the superstar had made tremendous collection at the Kerala box office, and the upcoming thriller Kaabil is also expected to make good business in the state as Hrithik enjoys a huge fan following in Kerala.
Kaabil, which is being bankrolled by Rakesh Roshan under his banner FilmKraft Productions, is scheduled to hit the screens on January 26, 2017.
