The festive season for cinephiles will start soon as this summer will have the best of movies lined up for the enthusiastic fans as well as the general audience. In Kerala, the festivity will start by the end of March with the releases of three major movies on 27 March - one Malayalam movie and two Tamil flicks.
Mohanal's much awaited "Ennum Eppozhum", Karthi's "Komban" and Simbu's "Vaalu" is all scheduled to hit screens on the same day.
Industry experts from Kerala believe that Tamil films might find it difficult to find more screens in Kerala unlike the last few months because of their short durability. Despite some big Malayalam releases being lined up for the vacation season, Tamil films are also assured a decent number of screens in the state.
'Ennum Eppozhum'
"Ennum Eppozhum" directed by Sathyan Anthikkad is one of the most awaited Malayalam movies of the year and has been making news since its announcement. The star cast that includes Mohanlal and Manju Warrier is the major highlight of film.
The teaser of the movie had also created a huge buzz and gave a glimpse of the magic that is in store for Mohanlal fans.
The film talks about how these two individuals, who are "poles apart in character, meet by destiny and the troubles they face in adjusting to each other."
The movie also has Innocent and Lena in pivotal roles. The script of the movie is written by Ranjan Pramod and the cinematography is handled by Neil D'Cunha.
The music of this much-awaited entertainer is composed by Vidyasagar and has three songs penned by Rafeeq Ahammed.
The upcoming movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas.
'Komban'
Directed by Muthaiah, "Komban" is touted as a village-based mass entertainer directed by "Kutti Puli" fame K Muthaiyah. Karthi will be spotted in a rustic look after "Paruthiveeran" and will be seen with a handle-bar moustache and beard.
Actress Lakshmi Menon will be seen in a traditional look in the movie and "Manja Pai" fame Rajkiran will play the role of her father.
The music is composed by GV Prakash while the cinematography is handled by Velraj.
'Vaalu'
"Vaalu", directed by debutant Vijay Chander, stars Simbu and Hansika Motwani in the lead role. The trailer of the movie has given a brief of what can be expected from the movie.
The movie is touted as a romantic action flick and the trailer had a mass feeling to it with its dialogues and one-liners.
The cast also includes Santhanam, VTV Ganesh, Aditya and Salim Ghouse.
The music is composed by Thaman while the cinematography is handled by Shakthi and the editing by TS Suresh. The film is produced by SS Chakravarthy under the banner of Nic Arts.
