Tamil and Malayalam audience have been awaiting to see the association of ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon and superstar Mohanlal for quite some time now. Now, the latest we hear from the South Indian entertainment industry is that the duo is joining hands together for the first time for a bilingual project soon.
Stand-up comedian and actor Ashvin Mathew has revealed on the upcoming movie while sharing his photo with the director on his Facebook page. "Gautam Vasudev Menon directing a film with Mohanlal ?? All will be revealed soon! :)[sic]," Ashwin wrote on his social media page.
When International Business Times, India contacted Ashvin, who has penned the story of the upcoming film, he revealed that more details of the project will be announced after Aug. 18. "Discussion is in the final stage and the project, which will be made in Tamil and Malayalam. It will be confirmed next week after Lal sir confirms his dates," Ashvin said.
Earlier, reports had it that Mohanlal will star as Suriya's father in the blockbuster Gautham movie "Vaaranam Aayiram," but it did not materialise due to unknown reasons.
On the acting front, Mohanlal is set to make a mark in the Tollywood industry with two back-to-back multilingual movies -- "Manamantha" ("Vismayam" in Malayalam and "Namadhu" in Tamil) and "Janatha Garage." While the Chandra Sekhar Yeleti-directed family entertainer is scheduled to hit the screens on Aug. 5, the Junior NTR-starrer will be released on Sept. 7. The superstar also has the crime thriller "Oppam" and most-anticipated action thriller "Pulimurugan" lined up for the year that might get released on Sept. 8 and Oct. 7, respectively.
Meanwhile, Gautham is awaiting the release of the bilingual romantic entertainer "Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada" starring Simbu and Manjima Mohan. The Telugu version of the film titled "Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo" has Naga Chaitanya and Manjima in the lead.
