Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday wished a speedy recovery to former Indian cricketer and BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu after the latter was diagnosed with a deep clot in one of his blood vessels.
Addressing Sidhu, Modi tweeted that the former is a "fighter" and will fight the illness in his "trademark style."
Dear @sherryontopp ji, get well soon. You are a fighter & will overcome the illness in your trademark style. Our prayers are with you.

On Tuesday, Sidhu, 51, suffered a serious deep vein thrombosis – an intense clot in the blood vessel and was admitted to Delhi-based Indraprastha Apollo hospital.
Doctors who are treating him said that his condition is fine and he is recovering well after the necessary treatments. "Sidhu has been put on blood thinners and has been recovering well. His condition is said to be stable, as of now," an official statement from the hospital said.
Acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can become a life-threatening condition if not treated on time. At the time of DVT, clots cause obstacles in the blood vessels, disrupting the normal blood flow.
Meanwhile, Sidhu himself on Tuesday tweeted about his health condition, saying that "God's Grace" will help him recover from DVT.

Sidhu, who will turn 52 on 20 October, is currently featuring as a permanent guest in the popular Colors show "Comedy Nights with Kapil". He joins the list of a series of renowned sportspersons like Steve Waugh, Andrew Flintoff and Darren Lehmann who also suffered from DVT in the past, reported Livemint.
