Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New York for his second visit to the United States on Thursday, and he is set to attend several high-profile addresses at the United Nations and the Silicon Valley. 

PM Modi will stay at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York, along with other leaders such as Russian president Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and even Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif. However, there will be no bilateral meeting between Sharif and Modi. 

Modi will host G-4 leaders, including Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, German chancellor Angela Merkel and Brazil President Dilma Rouseff for the first time in more than ten years. 

On the PM's agenda during his US trip is to push for reforms in the UN Security Council to include India as a permanent member, and to promote Indian start-ups among Silicon Valley investors and bigwigs.
