After inking a historic deal on the first day of his two-day visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid a visit to Bangladesh's sanctimonial places after which he will be attending the unveiling ceremony of plaques for Grant-in-Aid projects at New Chancery Complex in Dhaka.

Earlier on Sunday, Modi offered prayers at Dhakeshwari temple in Lalbagh, Dhaka after which he visited the Ramkrishna Mission, where he was welcomed by monks.
At the state-owned temple, which has been given the distinction of being Bangladesh's "national temple," Modi met with members of the temple committee. The temple authorities offered him a memento, IANS reported.

Modi is on a two-day visit to Bangladesh and he is accompanied by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. His trip is deemed as historic because he is the first Prime Minister to visit Bangladesh after the settlement of the four-decade-long boundary dispute.
