Tej Pratap Singh Yadav, who is the grand nephew of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and is an MP from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, had special guests on the occasion of his Tilak ceremony on Saturday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ace actor Amitabh Bachchan were present to shower the young groom with their blessings as he ties the knot with Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's youngest daughter Raj Lakshmi on 26 February.
Modi was present at Saifai village, which is the native of Mulayam Singh Yadav. The Prime Minister attended the ceremony for almost twenty minutes, after which he left the venue.
Prior to Modi's visit, security was beefed up in the area with the help of the Prime Minister's Special Protection Group who monitored the safety scenario of the village.
A police official also informed that a trial with an Indian Air Force plane was conducted at the village air strip.
According to Zee Media Bureau, Saifai, since the past few days has been buzzing with ceremonious activities as the entire village has gathered together to prepare for the grand wedding.
Variety of dishes like 'sarrata' (special sour raita), bedai, dahi-ke-aloo, baati-chokha, ulda poorie, paneer filled chola-bhature, imarti, jalebi served with chilled rabri, sohan halwa, kulfi and moong ki daal ka halwa soaked in pure desi ghee would be served to the guests on the wedding day.
As per the information received from sources close to Mulayam Singh Yadav's family, around 1,00,000 invites have been sent to politicians, celebrities, journalists, village people and many others for the grand ceremony.
