Following the popular trend of launching mobile games based on popular movies and TV shows, Udupi-based 99games partnered with Yash Raj Films (YRF) to release a smartphone game based on the upcoming movie "Sultan." The Salman Khan-starrer will be released this Eid, and until then, eager fans can enjoy the official "Sultan: The Game" on their smartphones.
The game features the main character, Sultan, as Salman. Its trailer has quite an appeal in itself, and shows some exclusive shots from the official "Sultan" movie trailer. "Sultan: The Game" is free to download and currently available on Google Play for Android devices. According to the Indian Express, iOS and other mobile versions of the game are expected to be released soon.
We downloaded the game for a test play and found the graphics impressive for a game as light as around 40MB. The game features several in-app purchases and players can also purchase coins to boost Sultan's power-play. In just a day since release, the game downloads are ranging between 1,000 and 5,000. It has been rated 4.6 out of 5 stars by nearly 1,800 reviewers.
With the partial popularity of the game coming from its official title and the trailer, Salman tweeted the link to the game to his hundreds of followers on Friday.
"This Eid, join Sultan as he makes his wrestling comeback and rises through the ranks to become the Wrestling Champion - witness his fight for redemption, love and GLORY!" reads the game description on Play Store. "Bring out the toughest in you as you Kick, Punch and Defend across 60 levels of in-ring action filled combats. Upgrade your Fighting Skills and Challenge your friends to the Top of the Leaderboards."
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, "Sultan" is a sports drama that will present Salman as a wrestler from Haryana. The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh. The movie's "Baby Ko Bass Pasand hai" and "Jag Ghoomeya" songs are already topping the charts.
